Defibrillators
Stockholmsmässan has long worked with the criteria, procedures and training required to become a Heart Safe Zone and we are proud to be heart safe. We regularly train our staff in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
heart safe zone
There are a total of nine defibrillators on the Stockholmsmässan site. The defibrillators located in the public environment have electrodes suitable for both children and adults and are located in alarmed cabinets with a clear green round button.
The Heart and Lung Foundation has developed the Heart Safe Zone standard, which describes what is required for a place to be a Heart Safe Zone. Being certified provides additional security for staff, guests and customers.
There are nine defibrillators at Stockholmsmässan, five of which are located in the public area (see map):

A heart safe zone means:
- We have installed defibrillators/AEDs
- We have good preparedness and emergency procedures for dealing with cardiac arrests
- We can start CPR immediately and treat with defibrillators within three minutes
- We are registered in the Heart Starters Register
- We have systematic maintenance of our equipment
- We have annual maintenance of our skills
Important to act quickly
Every year, 10,000 people suffer a cardiac arrest and 600 of them are saved. In the event of a cardiac arrest, it is important that everyone learns to act quickly. If CPR can be started immediately and a defibrillator is available within three minutes of a sudden cardiac arrest, up to 70-75% of victims can be saved. This means that up to 7,000 people could be saved every year.
