The brothers B\u00f6rje and Folke Claeson had been to the continent to visit various fairs and were inspired to set up a fair in Stockholm. Sweden holds the Presidency and under the leadership of the Prime Minister, all EU heads of state are welcomed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2002<\/strong><br \/>The owners of Sollentunam\u00e4ssan AB decides to start closing down their trade fair operations, and Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan takes over all of Sollentunam\u00e4ssan&#8217;s brands.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2006<\/strong><br \/>The fair\u2019s hotel, Rica Talk Hotel opens. The hotel is 18 floors high with 248 rooms and suites.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.3&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><strong>2009<\/strong><br \/>Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan&#8217;s new extension has been completed and the total floor space amounts to 70,000 square meters. Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan is now the largest exhibition and congress center in the Nordic region.<\/p>\n<p>The EU summit is held at Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan for the second time. Sweden holds the Presidency and under the leadership of the Prime Minister, all EU heads of state are welcomed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2013<\/strong><br \/>The completely rebuilt main entrance opens. \u00c4lvsj\u00f6 G\u00e5rd is undergoing an extensive renovation in order to be rented out as a conference venue for exclusive meetings in a manor house environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2014<\/strong><br \/>Scandic takes over Rica Hotel and it&#8217;s re-named to Scandic Talk Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan gets new digital infrastructure and one of the most modern wireless networks in the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2017<\/strong><br \/>A digital signage system is being introduced throughout the site and outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan celebrates 75 years!<\/p>\n<p><strong>2019<\/strong><br \/>Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan gets the ISO certification for sustainable events (ISO 20121).<\/p>\n<p><strong>2020<\/strong><br \/>The Covid-19 pandemic breaks out and all events are canceled. Hall A is converted into a field hospital, which is never used. During the pandemic, the facility was used for mail delivery, vaccination and paddle games.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2022<\/strong><br \/>Stockholm +50 took place in June 2022. The meeting, organized by the UN and hosted by Sweden and Kenya, brought together more than 4000 participants from 155 countries.<\/p>\n<p>SHORE certification for event safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2024<\/strong><br \/>Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan changes its logo and gets a new graphic profile.<\/p>\n<p>Updated wireless network according to the latest standard.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The history of Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan begins in 1942.
