Harry Plotter
Harry Plotter is Stockholmsmässan’s own robot plotter that is tasked with drawing out stand locations and walkways for a fair. The plotter improves Stockholmsmässan’s production time by almost 88%.
A success story
since 2003
It all started as a development project back in 2003. Stockholmsmässan then contacted the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm with the aim of developing a robot plotter that could facilitate the work of developing stand locations for fairs – a task that many other organizers still do by hand.
Today, Stockholmsmässan has the robots Harry, Hagrid and Hanna, three heroes who create great things with their work. The markings Harry drew are then used together with the coordinate system in the floor (the markings are a total of 8x8m) when laying out walking mats.
– It takes about five hours for Harry to design Hall C for a trade fair. The programming means that Harry has an accuracy of 2 cm in his placement,” says Rikard Skärebo, Production Manager at Stockholmsmässan.
Among other things, the robots help us:
– reduce production costs
– reduce lead times
– reduce strenuous work
How does it work?
– The hall is cleared
– CAD drawing is loaded
– Design starts
– This is what we call sustainable innovation at its best, says Linda Elmén, Head of Sustainability at Stockholmsmässan.
This project supports Stockholmsmässan’s three focus areas:
Sustainable Community, Sustainable Environment and Sustainable Innovation
