DreamHack Stockholm breaks records: “Biggest expo ever”

Published 2024-11-15

When DreamHack opens its doors at Stockholmsmässan, a record number of exhibitors will be presented as the festival comes to Stockholm for the first time. More than 90 exhibitors will be on site at what looks more like an amusement park than a trade fair. Festival visitors are also expected to spend over 81 million SEK during their time in Stockholm. This is according to new calculations produced by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with festival organizer DreamHack.

On November 22-24, DreamHack comes to Stockholm for the first time. The festival where computer games, music and live e-sports meet, also offers a world-class interactive expo that attracts thousands of visitors every year. Nearly 50,000 people are expected to attend Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö, and now DreamHack presents its largest expo ever. Over 90 exhibitors are on hand to interact with future generations.

– “Since we announced that we were coming to Stockholm, the interest in a place at the expo has been enormous. We sold out in record time and note an increased profit of 60 percent on the expo alone, says Andreas Jernberg, Managing Director of DreamHack/ESL FACEIT Group Nordics.

On site will be Presenting Partner Elgiganten, which, as in previous years, has a huge store on site and is responsible for sales at DreamHack. In addition, Elgiganten’s incredibly popular concept 1337 Giveaway, which attracts thousands of children and young people to the Main Stage every festival, will return. Also coming to Stockholm is Pantamera, which always attracts a lot of people with its Bean-bag wall.

– A big reason for the popularity of our expo is our “DreamHack Wheel”, which encourages our partners to be creative and our visitors to be active. Our partners create activations in their booths, and visitors receive rewards in the form of “coins” if they participate. In this way, we have a more interactive expo than others, which enhances brand awareness,” says Andreas Jernberg.

DreamHack is the world’s largest festival of gaming culture, with global stops in cities such as Dallas, Melbourne, Tokyo and Atlanta. At the festival, visitors can experience e-sports, music, expo activities and LAN under one roof. Exhibitors in Stockholm this year include companies such as IKEA, Arla, Meta and SJ, as well as authorities such as the Police and the Swedish Armed Forces.

– It feels fantastic that Stockholmsmässan can be the meeting place for the world’s hottest gaming event.
This is simply where you want to be. DreamHack really puts Stockholm on the map as a dynamic gaming destination. The event attracts an exciting international audience to the city and it means a lot for the tourism industry in the Stockholm region. As host, we are extremely proud to welcome an international event of this size,” says Anna-Karin Werner, Business Area Manager Congresses and Guest Events at Stockholmsmässan.
