The electrification of our cars is only in its infancy. And 2025 is considered by many experts to be the year of the second electric car boom. That’s why the eCarExpo and eComExpo electric car fairs are expanding and moving into the spacious halls of Stockholmsmässan. You won’t want to miss this!
Europe’s largest electric car fair, eCarExpo, is coming to Stockholmsmässan. The obvious meeting place for everyone who wants to take part in the electrified transport of the future has grown considerably since the doors first opened in 2016. Back then, when the market for plug-in cars was modest, the fair was housed in small premises in Nacka. Since then, the electric car market has expanded enormously – and so has the fair concept. It moved to Friends Arena (now Strawberry Arena) and a new fair in Gothenburg. Soon the concept moved abroad with successful establishments in Denmark, Norway and Estonia.
In the midst of all this, the organizer launched another fair concept, the sister fair eComExpo, which is a
trade fair and conference on fossil-free transport and infrastructure. Now it is time for both eCarExpo and eComExpo to take over Stockholmsmässan’s spacious halls, stages and conference rooms.
– “There are many exhibitors, speakers, media and visitors who want to be part of both fairs. This way it will be much easier and smoother for all parties,” says Gunnar Dackevall, CEO of eCarExpo and eComExpo. “We tested the concept at the Bella Center in Copenhagen last fall and broke all possible records.
2025 – the year of change
In 2024, electric car sales dropped slightly, while plug-in hybrids regained market share. Plug-in cars accounted for about two-thirds of new car registrations in January-November 2024, almost identical to the same period in 2023. Many experts believe that 100% electric cars will rebound strongly in 2025. Two factors in favor of this are the launch of a number of smaller and cheaper models, but also an expected price reduction on larger and existing models due to lower battery prices.
– “It is the buyer’s market and for those who want to update themselves on the latest and feel, squeeze, count and even test drive, then eCarExpo is just the right place”, concludes Gunnar Dackevall.
