Staffan Ingvarsson, CEO of Stockholm Business Region (SBR), becomes the new CEO of Stockholmsmässan. Ingvarsson will take up the position as CEO of Stockholmsmässan on February 8, 2024.
Last fall, the Group Board of Stockholm Stadshus AB decided to initiate a sales process of Stockholmsmässan AB, the implementation company of the subsidiary Mässfastigheter AB. As a new owner, we are looking for an actor suitable to run, develop and adapt the fair’s activities in the future.
– We are now entering the active phase of the sales process of the fair concepts. An issue closely linked to our desire to develop the area with housing, jobs and sports clusters. “With his solid experience of business issues, Staffan Ingvarsson is an excellent person to lead the company in a journey of change that is so important for Stockholm,” says Karin Wanngård (S) Chairman of the Board of Stockholmsmässan.
– I look forward to leading the company in a transformation that will provide good conditions not only for a new owner but also for the continued development of the exhibition and meeting industry in the Stockholm region,” says Staffan Ingvarsson.
The Board of Stockholmsmässan decided on a new CEO on February 7. Staffan Ingvarsson will take up the position on February 8 and will be replaced during his leave of absence from Stockholm Business Region by Vice President Caroline Strand.
Stockholmsmässan AB, an implementation company for trade fairs, congresses, conferences and events, is a subsidiary of Mässfastigheter i Stockholm AB owned by Stockholms Stadshus AB. The city will sell Stockholmsmässan AB. When the area around Älvsjö station is developed and a new subway line is drawn to the hub, the fairground properties will provide space for new housing, workplaces, recreation and sports areas. The program work for Älvsjö’s future development is ongoing and Stockholmsmässan will welcome exhibitors and visitors in existing premises at least until the end of 2028/2029.
