When it’s trendy to be outdoors – Nordiska Trädgårdar

Published on 2025-03-17

Nordiska Trädgårdar is the largest and most popular garden fair in the Nordic region. It is the place to be for growing enthusiasts, garden lovers and curious beginners. Nearly 50,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors come together to create an inspiring world of plants, ideas and knowledge.

Whether you have a large garden, a balcony or just a grow box, Nordiska Trädgårdar is the place to find everything from plants, seeds and tubers to garden furniture and green innovations. Get inspired by idea gardens, competitions and product launches – the perfect start to the growing season. Since its inception at Sollentunamässan in 1992 and under the auspices of Stockholmsmässan from 2002, the event has become an obvious meeting place for gardening enthusiasts.

FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
As part of Stockholmsmässan’s extensive sustainability work, Nordiska Trädgårdar is focusing on UN Sustainable Development Goals 12 and 15. The initiative and the Earth Square Meter exhibition want to get the whole of Sweden to contribute to biodiversity by giving back hard surfaces to nature. It shows simple examples of how everyone can contribute and do something. The fair also offers lectures and advice to provide practical tips on sustainable farming methods, water management and ways to become self-sufficient.

GERANIUM OF THE YEAR
Since 2007, the first day of the fair has been marked by the tradition of naming the Geranium of the Year. The event, organized in collaboration with Blomsterfrämjandet, highlights the beauty and diversity of the geranium genus. Each year, a specially selected geranium or group of varieties is recognized for its freshness, vitality and unique aesthetic expression. Visitors have the opportunity to discover and buy the geranium of the year directly at the fair.

AROUSE THE CHILDREN’S INTEREST
At Nordiska Trädgårdar there is something for the whole family! Among the stands on Rådgivningsgatan, there are several exciting, fun and educational activities that arouse interest in cultivation and nature. Each activity is rewarded with a stamp, which ultimately gives a prize.
