In 2024, Stockholmsmässan has solidified its position as a leading meeting place with 114 events, including major international congresses and corporate events. This means that the venue has facilitated nearly 800,000 people from 128 different countries to meet, develop, be inspired, and learn something new within its walls. The organisation has also made a number of sustainable and innovative investments to prepare for the future.
– Physical meetings play a crucial role. Whether it’s a congress, a fair, a conference, a grand gala dinner, or a festival, we firmly believe in the physical meeting. It is where relationships are built, knowledge is shared, and new impressions are created, which is the foundation of our business,” says Anna-Karin Werner, Business Area Manager, Congresses & Guest Events.
Sustainability Initiatives and Technological Upgrades
In 2024, Stockholmsmässan has undergone extensive improvements and implemented innovative solutions that enhance the venue’s sustainability profile and capacity to deliver high-quality events. One of the most notable projects of the year is the installation of solar panels on the venue’s roof, which is an important step towards a more sustainable future.
– Being able to produce some of our own electricity through solar panels is an important step forward for us. It shows our commitment to the environment and our desire to contribute to a more sustainable world, says Leif Dahllöf, Property Manager at Stockholmsmässan.
Stockholmsmässan has also implemented a new WiFi system. Congress and event organisers often have high demands on the digital infrastructure’s capacity, performance, and reliability, but even fair visitors want a good WiFi experience. The new system meets future requirements for security and performance while reducing climate impact through energy-saving technology.
Top-level capacity
During the year, Stockholmsmässan has also demonstrated its capacity to host world-class events. An example is an awards gala for a European company, with 2,000 visitors on 14,000 square metres of event space, which concluded with a world-renowned artist on stage. Along with major international events and the BIO Europe Life Science Congress, the venue reinforces its position as a dynamic hub and meeting place. At the same time, the venue has maintained its highest security certification through SHORE, ensuring safe meetings for all participants. Stockholmsmässan’s combination of sustainability focus, technological advancements, and ability to create memorable events confirms its role as a central player in Stockholm’s event life – now and in the future.
– With 75 events already booked for 2025, we are optimistic about the future. Stockholmsmässan will continue to be a global meeting place and accelerator for societal development, in Stockholm, the Nordics, and the world,” says Martin Jensen, Commercial Manager at Stockholmsmässan.
