WASTE HIERARCHY

Sustainability is about taking into account the needs of current and future generations. Through our sustainability work, we aim to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future. As part of this work, we follow the EU Waste Hierarchy, which consists of five steps that guide how waste should be managed to be as sustainable as possible.

Step one of the Waste Hierarchy is about planning. Pictured is a dark blue graphic icon in the shape of a calendar

Step 1 - Minimize

Through careful planning, we reduce resource consumption through sustainable purchasing and plan for reuse. We aim to minimize disposable products and use rental solutions where possible.
step two is about circular thinking. in the picture you can see a circle dark blue graphic icon with arrows moving clockwise and is about us focusing on reusing materials and constructions from previous projects.

Step 2 - Circular

We focus on reusing materials and constructions from previous projects. Our teams are continuously informed about available materials that can be reused. Our customers are offered sustainable solutions, such as renting everything needed for their booths.

Step three is about recycling. The picture shows a dark blue icon with a recycling cart on wheels with a flag and a recycling symbol.

Step 3 - Material recycling

We work closely with exhibitors and organizers to help them make sustainable choices. We offer circular options and improve sorting at source to reduce waste. We mainly recycle wood, metal and plastic, but also sort out 14 other materials.
Step four of the waste ladder involves converting materials that cannot be reused into energy, which in turn is used to generate district heating that warms our plant and the local community. Dark blue graphic icon of a plant creating district heating.

Step 4 - Energy recovery

Materials that cannot be recycled are converted into energy, which in turn is used to generate district heating that warms our facility and the local community.

Step five of the waste ladder means that only waste that cannot be recycled or energy recovered goes to landfill. This includes porcelain, stone and concrete. Today, we landfill only 2% of our waste and are constantly working to reduce that amount further.

Step 5 - Deposit

Only the waste that cannot be recycled or energy recovered goes to landfill. This includes porcelain, stone and concrete. Today, we landfill only 2% of our waste and are constantly working to reduce that amount further.
